MSP in the London Marathon

Go, Alister, Go!

This Sunday 26th April, friend and supporter Alister Whitford will be running the London Marathon in aid of MSP. He has already passed his target of£5,000, which his employer will double-match up to £15,000. Grand total so far is £16,703!

We asked Alister why he chose to support MSP. Here’s what he had to say:

“I have known since I was a child that my education is a huge part of who I am, and I count myself incredibly lucky to have benefitted from many extraordinary learning opportunities in my life, so I have always been drawn to supporting charities in this area.

MSP perfectly encapsulates this, helping to provide education that will radically transform people’s outlook and prospects for their whole lives.”

Can you help Alister reach £20,000?!

A Busy Easter Holiday for Our Girls Programme

Over the Easter holidays our female scholarship students took part in a menstrual health workshop, exploring the use of menstrual cups - a sustainable period product that can last up to ten years.

Not only does this significantly reduce waste, it also lowers long-term costs and helps ensure girls don’t miss school due to lack of access to period products.

The girls were given a choice between continuing with sanitary pads or trying the menstrual cup - and every single one chose to make the switch.

We’re grateful to UK charity UFULU Malawi for collaborating with us on this important initiative.

The programme also included a motivating career session with Lomagazi Mphangela Jere, a lawyer with the Office of the Ombudsman in Malawi. She spent the afternoon sharing her journey, encouraging the girls to aim high, and taking the time to listen to their ambitions and future career aspirations. The session clearly made a lasting impact. As Rebecca (15) shared: “I am excited and motivated by Loma’s journey to push for a better future.”
