Preschool education

Early childhood education is one of the most powerful investments we can make in a child’s future. In Malawi, only around a third of young children attend preschool, and the country faces a serious learning crisis: 87% of 10-year-olds cannot read or understand a simple text. By supporting children before they reach primary school, we give them the foundations they need to thrive — from early literacy and numeracy to social and emotional development.

We are thrilled to have completed the build of our first MSP Preschool at Mbabzi.

MSP Preschool at Mbabzi

  • The old preschool

This is the original nusery school at Mbabzi, where two devoted teachers, Lydia and Teresa, look after 30 children so that their parents, particularly mothers, can go to work.

  • Our MSP Preschool!

We have nearly finished building a large, safe space for up to 70 children to learn, play and grow.
