Unlocking Potential Through Secondary Education

In many parts of the world, secondary education is a right. In Malawi, it's a luxury. Families are required to pay for their children to attend secondary school — a cost most simply can’t afford.

As a result, fewer than 15% of young Malawians complete secondary education.

For girls, this figure is halved.

We’re changing that.

We provide our students with everything they need to succeed.

Our scholarships go far beyond school fees. We support each student with the essentials they need to succeed: textbooks, stationery, uniforms, school bags, exam fees, and tutoring during the holidays. For students who live far from school, we provide safe accommodation and daily meals. For girls, we supply sanitary products and access to sexual health education and support.

This holistic approach gives every student the tools they need to thrive — in school and in life.

Because education does more than open doors. It transforms lives. It lifts individuals, families, and entire communities out of poverty — creating lasting change, one student at a time.

Meet our Students from Mbazbi Primary School

  • Promise

“I was not able to walk the distance to the school, now I will be able to be near there.” Promise’s mother is the breadwinner, selling vegetables at a local trading centre. Her mother keeps the family running as Promise’s father is often absent.

  • Grivin

Grivin is the second born in a family of 5. His elder sister dropped out of school due to falling pregnant in Year 7. Grivin dreams of becoming a teacher one day.

  • Julius

Like the majority of Malawians, Julius’ parents are farmers. They do not earn enough to send their children to secondary school, Julius will be the first of his siblings to be able to attend thanks to The Mbabzi School Partnership.
